Plus, there’s no annual fee, so you don’t need to worry about putting enough spend on your card each statement period or year to make it worth it.
.
It also comes with a generous bonus offer; earn an additional 1.5% cash back on everything you buy (on up to $20,000 spent in the first year) – worth up to $300 cash back! Citi Custom Cash℠ CardFew cards adapt to your spending habits like the Citi Custom Cash℠ Card, since it automatically earns 5% cash back in your top eligible spending category (on up to $500 in spending each billing cycle). The card’s eligible categories also include a number of options that don’t typically earn such a high cash back rate like gas stations, transit and home improvement stores. This also makes the Citi Custom Cash℠ Card an excellent secondary rewards card if your primary card covers your largest expenses.

Combination of no annual fee, low interest, $200 sign-up bonus and high rewards earning rate, makes this card a second best option for cash back category.

Best for Balance Transfer

Citi Simplicity®We chose the Citi Simplicity as the best balance transfer card primarily due to its exceptionally long 21-month 0% APR introductory period along with consumer-friendly terms like no annual fee and no late fees or penalty rates.

While Simplicity offers no rewards, we don’t consider that a negative in the case of a balance transfer card, as rewards can tempt counterproductive additional spending when trying to dig out from debt. Citi does charge a $5 or 5% of the amount of each transfer (whichever is greater), but the length of the introductory period justifies the extra cost in terms of savings potential.

Citi® Diamond Preferred® Credit Card: This card is also an excellent choice for transferring a balance. It offers a 0% introductory rate on purchases for 12 months and 0% on balance transfers for 21 months.

Balance transfers must be completed within four months of account opening and incur a 5% fee (min $5) of the amount transferred. After the promotion expires, the interest rate reverts to a variable APR ranging from 17.49% to 28.24%, depending on your creditworthiness. The card does not charge an annual fee.
